The Sunday Salon: Goals for 2010

What Caught My Fancy

I am not going to do a proper year round-up post. I feel like I have been book blogging for such a short time that I have little to sum up. I do want to say that I have thoroughly loved the past few months learning to navigate the book blogging world. I love making connections and starting to make friends. Thank you!

I will also say that, although I am not going to make a list over favourite books (I have had enough of grading this term with gradschool and learning to grade my students) but I do want to point everyone to the two books that I have LOVED this year: A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson and The Year of Living Biblically by A.J. Jacobs. These two books had me in absolute stitches while at the same time making me think, and think hard. If you want to see all the books I have reviewed this year you can find them under my book review tag. I will be adding another tag (and page) for books read in 2009 but more on that later.

What you will see on my blog in 2010

What have you got planned for 2010?

Reading

History of the Medieval World

The History of the Medieval World: From the Conversion of Constantine to the First Crusade by Susan Wise Bauer. This is a book I have for review from the publisher. It took me a while to get into but now I’m really enjoying it.

Immortal in Death

Immortal in Death by J.D. Robb. I am reading this book for two challenges (and because I love it) the Flash Back Challenge and  Thriller and Suspense Reading Challenge 2010. So far the book has me laughing, but then again everyone is still alive.

House of mirth

The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton. This is my current audio book and I am listening to it for The Classic Circuit, which will be stopping by my blog on January 20th. The descriptions in this book have me captivated. I’m listening to the Audible version with Barbarra Caruso as the narrator.

I have two other books that are sitting in my “Currently Reading” category at LibraryThing, but they are on the backburner right now. I’ll get back to them once I finish one of these there books.

Reviewed

I have reviews from two weeks since last weeks Sunday Salon got lost in the Holidays (and me being lazy). (As always these links take you to my review)

Glory in death Glory in Death by J.D. Robb

naked in death Naked in Death by J.D. Robb

mansomhatar The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Män som hatar kvinnor) by Stieg Larsson

The Epic of Gilgamesh Epic of Gilgamesh

Challenges

My challenge post is up and will be properly organised when I do the Bloggiesta (see below). I did join one final* challenge this week Memorable Memoirs hosted by Melissa at The Betty and Boo Chronicles.

Fun Stuff

blogiesta

Next weekend I will be taking part in the Bloggiesta that Natasha at Maw Books Blog is hosting. It will give me a chance to organise some stuff on the blog that I have been putting off. I have a list!

I feel like I'm a newbie still in Blogland, but perhaps we always feel like that when we are constantly learning new things.

Perhaps I will see you during the Blogista. I hope to learn many new things there.
