Saw this article (from March) and thought it would make a good BTT confessional question:
Two-thirds of Brits have lied about reading books they haven’t. Have you? Why? What book?
Not intentionally no. I might have stretched the truth a bit occasionally but if I had been asked right out I would have told the truth. I never actually read every single page of For Whom The Bell Tolls by Earnest Hemingway but as far as my high school English teacher is concerned I did. Also I have read enough of Don Quixote to have an intelligent conversation about how it influenced and how it affected the intertextuality in Paul Austers City of Glass. I have read these books, just not finished because I didn't like them. Life is to short for bad books but if I can talk intelligently about them then I will.

I agree; we can have opinions on and conversations about books we didn't finish.
